CONSIDERED OVER CLEVER
Good design doesn't show off. It makes the right thing feel obvious. I'm not interested in work that impresses other designers at the expense of the person it's actually made for. Every decision should earn its place, and if it can't be explained, it probably shouldn't be there.

DETAIL IS THE WORK
The small decisions are where most design falls apart. The spacing that feels slightly off, the hierarchy that almost works, the transition that breaks the mood. I pay attention to those things not because I'm precious about it, but because that's the difference between work that feels considered and work that just looks designed.
